PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This unit standard will be useful to people who work or intend to work within the field of Immigration Law Enforcement, and who are required to develop profiles and select persons for immigration law enforcement purposes.
People credited with this unit standard are capable of: |

UNIT STANDARD RANGE |
Profiling will take place at and through municipalities, telephone companies, population register, movement control system, marriage offices, residential areas, permit sections, South African Police Service, National Intelligence Agency, inspection of person's files, ports of entry, refugee offices, embassies, government printing works to check serial numbers of permits, visas and travel documents, missions abroad and escort agencies.
Profiles are intended to cover foreigners and private citizens who are likely to aid and abet illegal foreigners. Profiling should be through a combination of observation, interviews, document research, investigation of documentation and use of whistle blowers. References to "the relevant Act" mean: |
