    Tactical moves in an urban environment within a controlled scenario are explained with examples. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Overcoming of obstacles in an urban environment utilising relevant techniques in a controlled scenario is demonstrated. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    The handling of incidents related to an Equine is explained with examples. 

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2 
    Utilise an Equine in crowd management. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

    The controlling of an Equine during crowd management activities is demonstrated. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The use of safety equipment in crowd management is demonstrated.

    Crowd management techniques are performed according to level of responsibility.

    Different types of patrols with an Equine in a law enforcement environment are named and explained. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Aspects related to patrols with an Equine are listed with examples. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Patrols utilising an equine are executed according to internationally accepted standards. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    Arrests and dealing with suspects on horseback are explained in accordance to relevant South African laws. 


    UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
  • Any individual wishing to be assessed, (including RPL) against this Unit Standard may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant ETQA, or an ETQA that has a memorandum of understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Anyone assessing a learner against this Unit Standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA, or an ETQA that has a memorandum of understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Anyone assessing a learner against this Unit Standard must hold a minimum of level 4 qualification in the equine field.
  • Any institution offering learning that will enable achievement of this Unit Standard or assessing this Unit Standard, must be accredited as a provider with the relevant ETQA, or an ETQA that has a memorandum of understanding with the relevant ETQA.
  • Moderation of assessment will be overseen by the relevant ETQA according to the moderation guidelines in the relevant qualification and ETQA guidelines.

    Essential embedded knowledge will be assessed through assessment of the specific outcomes in terms of the stipulated assessment criteria.
