PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
The scope of this Unit Standard covers the whole environment, which can be described as the dry mill of a Lumber Mill. All personnel involved in the activities of this work area, i.e. sorting, stacking and strapping are expected to show competency in this area. This Unit Standard will also assist them to enlarge their scope of knowledge by exposing them to the quality of material handled and processed in the relevant work areas of sorting, stacking and strapping. In this instance, they will be better positioned to determine the raw, processed, reject and waste types of materials.
