PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This standard is aimed at individuals who have a good understanding of the game and may include individuals who have completed the entry level coaching standard or individuals with a minimum of 5 years experience as professional football players who envisage further involvement in the sport in the capacity of club level coaching.
In achieving this unit standard, individuals will display the competency required to operate as a coach in order to teach the principles and skills of the game to individuals participating in the sport on beginner to intermediate level in particular as it applies to senior amateur and youth participants in the game. Individuals qualifying against this unit standard will be able to apply coaching skills as a coach operating in the community, sport club or organisation on a regional level. Individuals will have a good understanding of the rules of the game and will be able to coach the technical skills of the game of football in a safe and structured manner according to coaching and practice plans.
