    Heat transfer methods are explained in terms of radiation, convection and conduction. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    Bare surface heat loss is explained in terms of the relevant heat loss graphs. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Flat surface insulation is described and calculated in terms of its ability to retard heat flow. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    Pipe insulation is described and calculated in terms of its ability to retard heat flow.

    Insulating materials are identified, evaluated and selected in terms of characteristics and properties.

    Insulating material accessories are evaluated in terms of their application.

    Accessories include but are not limited to:
  • Securement, insulation reinforcement, water flashing, stiffening, sealing and caulking and expansion and contraction compensation.

    Electricity consumption data is analysed in terms of a graphical representation of historical energy use patterns.

    Insulating materials are identified, evaluated and selected in terms of type and form.

    Heat loss graphs are explained and applied in terms of bare pipes, flat surfaces and higher surface temperatures.

    Heat loss tables are explained and applied in terms of pipe size, insulation thickness and material.
