PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
The unit standard is aimed at individuals involved in carrying out routine tasks associated with a fisheries control officer. The focus of this unit standard is for the learner to identify the common types of fishing vessel and fishing gear used in South African waters as well as the specific gear used for capturing particular target species in order to enable the execution of duties associated with fisheries conservation compliance.
