PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard will be useful to people who are required to make a copper bangle which is decorated using the acid etching technique.

People credited with this unit standard are able to:
  • Prepare the metal blank.
  • Apply the resist.
  • Etch the metal.
  • Shape the bangle.

  • Acid Etching involves immersing the metal in an acid solution while protecting certain parts with a substance called a resist in order to create a pattern on the metal's surface.
