PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This unit standard will be useful to people who are required to prepare the metal surface or setting area for setting gemstones. The very basic ability to sand or clean the surface or area to the required texture in order to mark out, drill and use setting tools and equipment to seat gemstones into jewellery, is normally the biggest hurdle for aspiring setters to achieve the desired result and add the necessary value to the jewellery item.
