PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard will be useful to people who are required to make a set of bangles by using basket weaving techniques. Traditionally certain materials, such as ilala palms, bamboo, bark skin, grapevines etc. are used to achieve this particular techniques. Ultimately the learner will produce a set of bangles using non ferrous metals.

People credited with this unit standard are able to:
  • Obtain and prepare the materials.
  • Prepare the cores of the bangles.
  • Weave basic patterns using weaving material.
