PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This unit standard will enable learners to give assistance to persons living with a disability or chronic illness to become independent in activities of daily living. Activities of daily living are applied for individuals to age and level of incapacitation. The health worker is able to teach clients with disabilities and related chronic illnesses in self care, household and social/recreational activities.
The types of problems giving rise to disability include, but are not limited to, those pertaining to sight, movement, feeling and touch, hearing and understanding, speaking, learning, sphincter control, breathing, pain. The qualifying learner is capable of: |
