PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The purpose of this unit standard is to enable the enforcement of relevant company and Gaming Board security procedures when dealing table games within a casino. The individual should develop competent usage of the appropriate procedures and structures in place in implementing security procedures.

On achievement of this unit standard the learner will understand and be able to:
  • Implement company security procedures for dealers and explain the importance of these procedures at all times.
  • Implement Gaming Board security procedures for dealers.
  • Describe the role of the surveillance department in assisting with security issues.
  • Exercise discretion with minimum disruption in all security dealings with customers.

    The importance of implementing Gaming Board security procedures for dealers is explained emphasizing the impact of non-compliance on dealers, clients and the casino.

    Describe the role of the surveillance department in assisting with security issues.

    The role of the surveillance department is explained as it relates to the monitoring and surveillance of the dealing section.

    Irregularities encountered by dealers are referred to the surveillance department for verification and assistance in this regard.

    UNIT STANDARD ACCREDITATION AND MODERATION OPTIONS 
  • An individual wishing to be assessed against the unit standard (including through RPL) may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant Education and Training Quality Assurance body (ETQA), or one with an appropriate memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the relevant ETQA.
  • Anyone assessing a learner against this unit standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA, or one with an appropriate MOU with the relevant ETQA.
