PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard is able to explain the rights and obligations of a holder of real and personal rights. The learner will be able to explain the nature and effect of ownership and possession and the process of obtaining information from the deeds office. The learner will also understand notarial bonds in terms of South African law and be able to explain the legal nature of a lien, a pledge and a hypothec and the requirements, rights and obligations of a spoliation order.

On successful completion of this Unit Standard the learner will be able to:
