    This unit standard is intended to promote general knowledge and understanding of the basic concept of assessing the quality of installed support in the mining and minerals sector in order to ensure knowledgeable and informed workers.

    The factors influencing the quality of installed support are provided in terms of legal and operational requirements. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE

  • Slenderness or width to height ratio.
  • Installation angle.

  • Prestressed load maintenance.
