This unit standard is useful for people who intend following a career in the diamond processing sector and who are required to prepare makeable diamond gemstones for processing. This process is known as preparation.

The scope and context applies to the conversion of rough diamond gemstones into cut and polished diamond gemstones for sale into local and international markets.
This unit standard applies to persons preparing uncomplicated makeable diamond gemstones under general supervision, or where the person performing the activity deals with complicated makeable diamond gemstones only under close direction of a supervisor. |
