PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this Unit Standard will be able to demonstrate the ability to prepare and present proposals for the securing of contracts for the co-ordination of the international movement of project cargoes, on a door to door basis and carry them out in accordance with the client's requirements.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Preparing proposals for the securing of contracts.
  • Concluding project with client and service providers.
  • Developing project operating procedure, plan and measurement tools.
  • Implementing the project plan in accordance with client's requirements.
  • Effecting project close-out.

    The project close-out report is prepared and in terms of the project operating procedures.

    A final interval audit is concluded in order to determine areas for performance improvement.

  • Transport Regulations, regulations in countries of origin, transit and destination relating to route planning and the movement of abnormal loads.
  • Relevant Sections of the Customs Act, provisions of the Customs Act relating to stage consignment rulings and temporary importation of capital equipment, the application for Customs Rulings in respect of stage consignments and temporary capital importations, the administration of project documentation in conformity with the provision of stage consignment rulings and temporary importation authorities.
  • Routing and Scheduling, the compilation and administration of the project shipping schedule to conform with the requirements of the project construction schedule.
