PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard will be able to secure, protect and escort assets during collection, in-transit and delivery operations. They will also be able to understand assets in transit security principles and techniques to be used. This unit standard will enable persons to understand the concept of risk and threats associated with assets in transit and will enable them to use proactive measures to avoid identified possible threats and risks.

The qualifying learner will be capable of:
  • Preparing for assets in transit protection operations.
  • Applying proactive measures to protect assets during collections, in transit and delivery operations.
  • Applying appropriate counter measures during incidents to protect life and assets.
  • Concluding assets in transit operations for effective handovers.
