PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard will equip the learner with the basic understanding of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights in relation to the organisation and in a global context. This unit standard is intended for any person with an interest in governance.

Qualifying learners will be able to:
  • Explain the key features of the political process in a democracy.
  • Describe the relationship between the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and the organisation.
  • Describe the role of National Government and the different departments in a democracy.
  • Apply professionalism in government related organisations.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the participation of governmental statutory security organisation in civic related matters.
