PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
Learners who are assessed as competent against this unit standard will be able to prepare, lay out and set up work areas for a range of carpentry practices carried out on building sites in accordance with National Building Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and best practice carpentry standards.
This competence supports and enhances the other Masonry competencies. The generic competencies outlined in this unit standard should facilitate portability of masonry skills across different contexts within the construction industry. It contributes to the development of a professional community of Masonry practitioners. The contribution to The National Skills Development Strategy is the key developmental interface between learners and new competencies to be achieved. |
