PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard provides a broad introduction to the understanding, of administration procedures in a drawing office. It is the starting point for a learner in this sector. The focus is knowledge, skills, values and attitudes in relation to the learner`s own context and experience of the world of work.


The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Demonstrating an understanding of drawing office administration procedures
  • Estimating cost implications for elements of administration
  • Identifying and retrieving a stored drawing
  • Distributing drawing according to organisational requirements 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
  • Learners accessing this unit standard will have demonstrated competence in mathematics, engineering science and technical drawing at NQF level 4 or equivalent.
  • Learners accessing this unit standard will have demonstrated competence in computer technology at Level 3 on the NQF or equivalent.
