In all of the tables in this document, both the pre-2009 NQF Level and the NQF Level is shown. In the text (purpose statements, qualification rules, etc), any references to NQF Levels are to the pre-2009 levels unless specifically stated otherwise. |
This unit standard does not replace any other unit standard and is not replaced by any other unit standard. |
PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
Learners in the field of industrial rubber manufacturing require the skills, values and knowledge reflected in this unit standard in order to ensure a quality product.
Qualifying learners can recognise, interpret and respond to changes in the normal running conditions of an industrial rubber manufacturing process. They will understand the importance of timeous response and how it is achieved. This will include monitoring the industrial rubber manufacturing equipment and product-in-process and identifying product non-conformances. The learning outcomes in this unit standard also contribute to the exit level outcomes required for the National Certificate in Rubber Manufacturing (Mixing, Extruding, Moulding or Calendaring) (NQF level 2) and related qualifications. |
LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING |
This unit standard has been designed as part of a progression. It is one of a series of unit standards for producing product in an industrial rubber manufacturing setting.
The credits allocated to this unit standard assume that a learner has already learned to: |
UNIT STANDARD RANGE |
The ranges as indicated under the specific outcomes determine the scope and level of this unit standard.
All work is performed under supervision and according to worksite and manufacturer specifications and occupational safety, health and environmental legislation. |
