PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard will serve to provide the learner with an understanding of administrative requirements of providing Library and Information support services. It will also equip the learner with the ability to manage their time effectively at the workplace.

The knowledge, skills and attitudes to keep records, compile statistics and perform basic financial transactions in the provision of Library and Information support services are covered in this unit standard.

Learners accredited with this unit standard will be capable of:
  • Understanding the nature and scope of record keeping in Library and Information services.
  • Compiling statistics related to provision of Library and Information support services.
  • Processing service fees for the provision of Library and Information support services.

    The nature of administration for Library and Information support services is described according to organisational policies and procedures. 
    ASSESSMENT CRITERION RANGE 
    Administrative procedures include, but are not limited to: membership database, transactions, queries and frequently asked questions.
     

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    The scope of record keeping for Library and Information support services is described according to organisational policies and procedures. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    Library and Information support service records are maintained in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.

    Compile statistics related to provision of Library and Information support services.
