PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This Unit Standard will be useful for all people, and in particular those practitioners for whom human rights issues underpin their activities.

UNIT STANDARD RANGE |
The term 'foundations' is used to refer to key issues and events upon which human rights and democracy are built, as well as the founding documents. As part of this, learners are required to identify examples of violations of human rights as human rights and democratic principles and values are in some ways a response to such violations.
For the purposes of this Unit Standard, references to 'the Constitution" refers to the South African Constitution. Learners should have access to a copy of the South African Constitution. |
