This Unit Standard is for all people working in the Auctioneering industry and is aimed at developing their knowledge and skill in being able to identify, classify and lot sale items so as to expedite an auction.

The successful learner will be capable of
  • Explaining the different types of products offered by auction
  • Listing the types of stock to be auctioned
  • Assessing product characteristics
  • Classifying items/products for sale

    The various types of products which can be sold by auction are identified and an explanation given of which are best suited to an auction and which to a private sale

    The characteristics of each type is explained in accordance with auctioning categories
