PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
A person credited with this unit standard will be able to understand the role of Information Technology in the Construction Industry and will be able to make decisions regarding the most appropriate Information Technology system/s for his/her context. The learner will also be able to manage the implementation of such systems within the construction organisation. The above will be done in conjunction with relevant role-players, including suppliers.

These learning outcomes form part of the Fundamental learning in the Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, NQF level 6.

This unit standard will contribute to the full development of a professional community of Construction Managers.

The skills, knowledge and understanding demonstrated within this unit standard are essential for social and economic transformation and upliftment within the construction environment
