PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard will be able to compete in hairstyling competitions and perform at a higher level. They are also able to demonstrate knowledge of competition styling.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Planning and preparing for hairdressing competition
  • Applying rules and criteria of sections
  • Selecting dress, make-up and accessories for hairdressing competition and applying rules and criteria of sections
  • Practicing and applying skills according to section criteria 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    Learners assessing this qualification will have demonstrated competence against unit standards in mathematical, computer, numerical and communication studies at NQF Level 3 or equivalent.
