The person credited with this unit standard is able to prepare the workstation for an oil manicure, prepare their client and perform an oil manicure.

The nail and surrounding skin is cleansed and made free of any nail varnish with appropriate products and tools. |
ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 |
The natural nail is shaped according to client's preferences and the hands are soaked in a sanitising solution. |
ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 |
The hands are exfoliated and soaked in a bowl with warm oil and the cuticles are manicured and groomed. |
ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 |
A relaxing massage is conducted in a continuous manner on the hand and forearm with an appropriate medium utilising effleurage, petrissage and/or friction movements to suit the client's needs. |
ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5 |
Homecare treatments and products are recommended to the client to maintain the service. |
ASSESSMENT CRITERION 6 |
The follow up appointment is secured and the client record card is completed and sales opportunities for further treatment and products and suitable homecare advice and support are identified and applied. |
