PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
The person credited with this unit standard will be able to understand and explain the work principles and constructional details of marine diesel engines with auxiliary equipment. They will also be able understand, explain the operation and maintenance of diesel engines, this will also enable them top demonstrate, indicate the properties of fuel and lubricating oils used in diesel engines and explain the various machinery components that are manufactured and the effects of the various physical properties of the materials that are used.
