PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard is able to source and implement a direct mail campaign and understand and utilise the Internet. They are also able to demonstrate an understanding of promotional tools and provide assistance at an exhibition. Learners are also able to process service order forms from exhibitors.

The qualifying learner is capable of:

    It is assumed that learners accessing this unit standard will have demonstrated competence in Computer Literacy, Mathematical Literacy, Communication at NQF level 3 or equivalent.

    Methods of bulk postage of promotional material is explained according to standard operational procedures.

    Internet served by the exhibition is explained and utilised to research the industries in accordance with system limitations.

    The Internet is used to promote campaigns for the exhibition and links to the web site are implemented as per company requirements and system limitations.

    Incoming service order forms are checked for accuracy and processed following organisational procedures and guidelines.

    Copy of order form, together with payment is sent to accounts department, according to organisational procedures and within required time frame.

    Exhibitors files or records are annotated with details of orders placed in required format.

    Compound orders are placed with suppliers, from exhibitor's orders, within required timeframe and according to organisational systems and procedures.

    Promotions for early stand bookings for next exhibition are processed according to organisational procedures.

  • An individual wishing to be assessed (including through RPL) against this unit standard may apply to an assessment agency, assessor or provider institution accredited by the relevant ETQA or an ETQA that has a Memorandum of Understanding with the relevant ETQA.
